CPKC 529 with KCS Grey Ghost Trailing

On July 28th, 2024, I was randomly listening to my scanner when I heard CPKC dispatch mention that there would be a 529 departing Kenwood yard in Albany at 4PM. 529 runs as needed so I took the chance to go out to see it. By complete coincidence, KCS 4547, an AC4400CW in the Grey Ghost paint scheme was trailing behind its Gevo leader.
NYSW Welded Rail Train on the CNYK

During the week of July 8th, 2024, the NYSW was running a welded rail train down the CNYK line. After two failed attempts to find this thing, I was finally able catch up with it in Narrowsburg, NY, where it finished up its work and tied down for the night.

Chasing the Delaware Lackawanna PO74 between Scranton and Cresco and then PO75 for the return trip on June 29th 2024. The last Alco C636, 3642, is leading on 74.

Stourbridge Line 54 is one of only seven remaining BL-2s still out there. On June 15th 2024 it led the "Princess and Super Hero Train" on its return trip to Honesdale, PA
Norfolk Southern's Interstate Heritage 8105 on H70 at Campbell Hall, NY

On June 2nd 2024, Norfolk Southern's Interstate heritage, 8105, trailed on H70 from Croxton, NJ-Campbell Hall, NY. All of their cars were to be dropped off to the Middletown and New Jersey Railroad. After dropping off their cars, they turned the power around. They then picked up a few cars to bring back to Croxton and departed less than an hour after they initially arrived.

After a major derailment in Ohio, Norfolk Southern was forced to reroute trains to keep things going. on February 5th 2023, 28X was rerouted down the NYSW, running as SU100X.

These two Amtrak locomotives will never return to the rails
Hey Old EL guy here ok........ so lets reminisce a bit and catch up some 50 years later.. Back in the day this was a four track line starting at and controlled by SF Tower. "Leaning tower of Suffern". A lot went on back in the early EL -mid 70's at this place. Most if not all of Hillburn yard still remains to this day. 5 NJT passenger layover tracks and the five remaining freight Ford Mahwah assembly plant yard are used by NS to this day. Oh can't forget the old Piermont branch that is still alive.

Born and raised in Middletown when it was three RR town .....The "Erie" , "O&W" , and of course the Middletown and NJ RR . The M&NJ is the only RR remaining of the three. It's a shame that they abandoned the Middletown - Slate Hill line. BTW, I saw that very (blue and yellow. 2174) loco a few months ago in Middletown, at the East Main St crossing . It looked just as pristine as in the video. I was the only car in line, watching it as is slowly passed by. I waved to the engineer and he waved back, and gave me a toot on the horn. I felt like a kid again .

The URHS owns the Hickory Creek. It has run on the Hudson line many times.
